The Scrub Hare Who Chased Shiny Stones

Jasper had a dream.

He wanted everyone in the game park to like him. And he believed the way to make that happen was to collect the shiniest stones he could find.

So he ran. Every day, all day. Searching, collecting, never resting.

Until the day a hungry lion spotted him, and his exhausted legs couldn't jump fast enough to escape.

Hiding between two rocks, frightened and out of breath, Jasper finally stopped. And in that stillness, something shifted. He saw clearly, maybe for the first time, what he'd actually been running from: a fear of being alone. A fear of not being enough.

He didn't know what to do. So he did the only thing he could think of.

He prayed.

When he opened his eyes, he found a Bible in the dirt. He opened it, and read these words:

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

— Matthew 11:28

One by one, Jasper took the shiny stones out of his bag. And put God's Word in instead.
